7 Restaurants to eat in Bogotá

Are you going to Bogotá and don’t know where to go to eat? Here we give you our recommendations 7 restaurants to eat in Bogota (good and cheap).

Even ahead (at least for fame) is the Peruvian or the Mexican, it Colombian gastronomy We were very pleasantly surprised. In general, they are softer flavors for other people’s palates, with a moderate use of spices and seasonings and which resort to the basic ingredients of these countries such as corn, beans, potatoes, plantains, coriander, meat… We thought a very varied food, and with more and more options for vegetarians, which you will enjoy like a sparrow and you are a foodie traveler.

1. Antigua Santa Fe (Secret of Love – the best ajiaco in the world)

if you want to try typical dishes from Colombia, this restaurant is your place. And more if you want to spend little and eat tasty. Ajiaco, sanconcho, bandeja paisa and much more. Super central, in the middle of Cadelaria.

Update November 2019: apparently now the place is known as “The secret of love – The best ajiaco in the world”

2. Quinoa and Amaranth

Perfect for those who want to eat vegetarian (and no), they have an interesting menu which, for $17,000, includes an entree, fruit juice and a drink. All healthy and homemade. The only “bad” thing is that the site is small.

3. The false door

It is a very good place, in the heart of Candelaria, where you can try typical dishes such as ajiaco (28,000) or tamales (8,000). Although we prefer to go at breakfast time, they prepare several types of eggs and their mythical chocolate with cheese. It is a simple place but very frequented by both tourists and locals (anthony bourdains recommended it, and his fame went far!). Founded in 1816, they say it’s the oldest place in town!

4. The corner of LA MONA

Another one of our favorite restaurants to eat in Bogotá. Recommended chopped: tray of grilled meat, arepas and Creole potato (for 2 people) for $35,000, about €9. You can also order the empanadillas as an appetizer (5 for $5000).

5. Ash – For the firewood

It doesn’t matter if it’s thousands of kilometers from home… an Italian knows it: you have to eat pizza once a week. Okay, I may (or may not) be exaggerating, but if you feel like it eat delicious pizza, this site is a very good idea. And for dessert? Brownies, haha. Prices: Margherita $15,000, with ingredients $17,000-20,000. Plus: the place is nice and close to Plaza Bolivar.

6. Santa Fe restaurants

Somewhat more expensive than the previous restaurants, but with the right prices and nothing exorbitant. Next to Food quality It deserves it and the place is very nice.

7. Andrés Carnes de Beef

More than eating, you live here real dining experience. And it is that Andrés Carnes de Res is one of the most recommended restaurants in Colombia, not only for the quality of the meat, but also because the original place, located in ChiaIt has a super curious decoration.

The bad is that it is in the fifth pinto (there are even excursions that take you there) and how cheap it is not very cheap. Although the menu is huge and there are dishes for all budgets. If you prefer, try this delight steakhouse in other premises of the same owner, in Bogotá.
